Spring Banquet

Eric and I went to Concordia's Spring Banquet. We enjoyed the great view, played black jack, and of course danced the night away! They had the dinner and dance at Oasis, huge restaurant that overlooks Lake Travis. We had a great time and it was one of those nights that it hit me, "I'm graduating!"

Sorry I have not posted lately. It's the week before finals and my mind is focusing on projects and exams. I promise I will not let down the readers and provide exciting tales of the Brinkmans soon!

17 days

I can't believe I only have 17 days left until I am a college graduate! I can still remember my senior year of high school, sitting on the floor in my bedroom trying to choose what college to attend. I took a leap of faith and left the Alamo city for weird Austin. I didn't know anyone at my school, let alone the whole city, but I trusted in God the whole time. Little did I know I would fall in love with a boy from Illinois, meet incredible friends, and be actively involved with Austin Stone. I still have finals and projects to do before crossing the stage in my cap and gown, but I am so excited to end this chapter of my life and see what God has in store for me.
Here are some pictures that sums up my last four years at Concordia University!

I have been truly blessed during my college years and I look forward to posting pictures of my graduation!

love you all,
Christine

La Casa de Brinkmans

We have lived in a humble abode for almost nine months. We love our one bedroom apartment, and as you can see I love to make it cute and comfy. We enjoy having our family and friends over for dinner and play a few rounds of catch phrase. If you are ever in the Austin area please call us! We would love for you to hang out at our home sweet home!

Our Easter Weekend

Happy Easter to everyone!
We hope you had a blessed Sunday and rejoiced in our risen Lord!
On Saturday, Eric and I helped out at Redeemer's Easter egg hunt. Hundreds of families showed up to participate in the hunt, take pictures with the Easter bunny, and enjoy crafts. We were there from 8am-12:15pm. It was a long and busy morning.

On Sunday we went to Austin Stone for 9am service. Service was awesome! It was a great way to begin the celebration of Jesus' resurrection. Afterward, We headed straight to San Antonio and hung out with my family. We ha a long but wonderful weekend!

The Gospel told through jellybeans

Gold is for heaven, where God wants us to go.

Black is the sin, the darkness in man's soul.

Red is for the blood Jesus shed on cavalry.

White is for a new heart, Jesus gives to you and me.

Green is for our faith, growing stronger everyday.

Jesus living through me, cause He's the only way!

You can tell I am getting my degree in children's ministry. I was enjoying some delicious starburst jellybeans when I remembered this great rap I learned in high school that teaches the Gospel. It might me cheesy but it's a simple way to share the amazing story of Christ's death and resurrection. I hope this reminds you about the cross, how through Jesus' love and sacrifice we are forgiven and redeemed.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

The past two years

Eric and I have been married for 8 months. The months are flying by and we are enjoying each day as it comes. We have definitely learned a lot about each other since getting married, which has made for a fun and exciting adventure. Here are a few things I have learned since living with my humorous husband.

- Mountain Dew is as nutritious as H2O. That is why we will always have a liter in the fridge.
- Resses buttercups are acceptable to be a breakfast food.
- Albert Pujols...enough said.
- He can clean the whole kitchen in about 7mins. He is very efficient and fast!
- Cardinals baseball and Illini basketball are not just games, but important events in history.
- Encourages me to pursue my dreams and passions daily.
- He truly listens even though he is watching sports and playing video games, at the same time.
- He is my best friend and I love him because he is Eric!

The Easter Bunny came early!

We got a bundle of goodies from the Easter Bunny yesterday. Eric mentioned that the Easter Bunny must have known he got married recently, because there was so much girly stuff. We want to give a big thank you to Mom and Dad up in Mt. Zion! Thank you so much for the wonderful care package!
We love you!

So it begins...

Since starting our blog my mind has not stop wandering with prospective stories that I hope to write. But as I sit and begin to write those vivid tales, nothings comes out. So I am going to stop planning on what I will write to you and just write what's on my heart and mind. So here it goes.

Right now I am in a dilemma. I am perplexed about a situation that I have been trying to control for 8 months. The problem that I am facing is... finding the right laundry detergent. Currently we are using Gain detergent and fabric sheets. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a swell scent but it's not us. I might be a little bias because I have been a Tide and Bounty kinda girl for 22 years. I am really trying to venture out and pick a different brand, but so far I have found nothing. As for now I am stuck with Gain for about 58 more loads and I will be content. If you have any recommendations please let me know. It would be much appreciated.

Have a blessed day!
Christine

Peer Pressured

It finally happened!

We got a blog. After a few months contemplating on whether or not to give in to online journaling, we did it. We hope you all enjoy our random adventures of being a Brinkman. I (Christine) will do most of the writing, but there will be some posts from Eric. I hope this blog brings you laughter and a window into our lives. Love you all!
