Ten on Tuesday

This week's questions are provided by Chelsea at rootsandrings.com (creator of Ten on Tuesday)

1. Would you rather give up pedicures or flat/curling irons? I would give up pedicures for sure because my hair resembles a lion's mane when it is not tamed. I also love buying nail polish and doing my nails. I think I get a pedicure twice a year, at the most. Why spend moola when I can do it myself.
2. Does your middle name have a family meaning? nope, my parents just liked it. (Cathryn)
3. Do you like to sneeze? prebaby: never bothered me. postbaby: annoying and complicated. Gals with babies, you know what I am talking about.
4. Do you think kids should need to learn cursive? sure, I really only use cursive when I am writing fast. It does look nice and professional.
5. When you go to the beach for the day, what do you take? sunblock, sunglasses, umbrella, chairs, cooler filled with yummy food and drinks, and books 2 & 3 of Hunger Games. I have yet to finish them so I hope a day at the beach would help me.
6. Which decade had the best music? late 90's early 00's...boybands rocked. My *nsync station on pandora is one of my favorites.
7. Are you a good hand-shaker? I think so, but lately not so much. I have tendinitis in my right wrist from carrying my baby girl the wrong way. This injury has caused me to not shake with my full potential.
8. Do you have a go-to meal for when you are at a restaurant and you can’t decide? Salmon, hands down. I love me some salmon and if they have it, I will more than likely try it out.
9. Do you have slippers? i do, but i tend to only use them in the fall and winter months. There is no need to have warm and toasty toes when the rest of my body is sweating because it's 90+ degrees outside.
10. Are you easily grossed out? yes but it is random stuff like fish scales, frog eggs, and bee hives. Anything with a tight pattern or a cluster of something. Eww, I am getting the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.

My sister gave me Kari Jobe's new CD and I am loving it!! This is my new favorite song, and I included the lyrics because they are so rich with truth. I hope you enjoy this song.

Find You On My Knees lyrics

Troubles chasing me again,
Breaking down my best defence,
I'm looking, God, I'm looking for you
Weary just won't let me rest and fear is filling up my head.
I'm longing, God I'm longing for you

But I will find you in the place I'm in, find you when I'm at my end,
Find you when there's nothing left of me to offer you except for brokenness.
You lift me up, you'll never leave me thirsty,
When I am weak, when I am lost and searching
I'll find you on my knees.

So what if sorrow shakes my faith,
What if heartache still remains,
I'll trust you, my god I'll trust you.
'Cause You are faithful and

I will find you in the place I'm in, find you when I'm at my end,
Find you when there's nothing left of me to offer you except for brokenness.
You lift me up, you'll never leave me thirsty,
When I am weak, when I am lost and searching
I'll find you on my knees, my knees.

When my hope is gone, when the fear is strong
When the pain is real, when it's hard to heal
When my faith is shaken and my heart is broken and my joy is stolen, God I know that

You lift me up, you'll never leave me thirsty,

Find you in the place I'm in, find you when I'm at my end,
Find you when there's nothing left of me to offer you except for brokenness.
You lift me up, you'll never leave me thirsty,
When I am weak, when I am lost and searching
I'll find you on my knees.

The past 5 months...

Here is a look at what has been happening the past five months around here.
We welcomed our baby girl, Halle Noelle on September 1, 2011.

Our little miss bright eyes at one week old.

Halle at one month.

2 months

We missed taking her picture with Winnie the Pooh, but this is one when she was 3 months.
4 months

Our sweetie pie at 5 months.

Halle is a joy and we are in love with the amazing blessing God has given us. I can't believe how fast she is growing and I am trying to soak up this precious time.

The Growing Belly

Growing a baby inside your belly is an amazing experience. I really enjoyed it and miss the moments when Halle would be moving and grooving inside my stomach.
When Eric and I found out we were pregnant, we decided wanted to document my pregnancy by taking a photo of myself every week. I won't show you all 40 pictures because that would take along time to upload, and let's be honest we all like seeing the drastic changes. Here you go and please no judgements.

8 Weeks
17 weeks
24 weeks

31 weeks

38 weeks (last picture taken)
I didn't have Halle until 39weeks and 4 days but we didn't take a picture that week. I'm pretty sure I was crabby, hot, and felt like a whale which made me not want to smile for the camera.
I am so glad we documented those 9 months because they honestly flew by.

I'm Baaaack...

I can't believe it has been several months since I last blogged. So much has happened since June and I can't wait to blog all about it. The biggest change is I am now a mommy. I absolutely love my new role that the Lord has blessed me with. Every time I hold my sweet baby girl I praise the Lord and marvel that she is all mine and I get to kiss her as much as I want to.

I plan on blogging about the end of my pregnancy and what a joy it was to be waddling around in the hottest summer in Texas, the birth story, and my new life as a mommy. Stay tuned, you're in for some good laughs and a peek inside the life of being a Brinkman + baby.

The Sappy, Pregnant Lady loves...

I have always been pretty sentimental, but being pregnant has pushed me to be a big ole' sap. Here are are few things that I have may or may not shed some tears over.

- The Vow movie trailer

- Reading Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by: James Patterson

- Eric and I went to a marriage conference this past weekend. On the last day of the conference we renewed our vows. I definitely was holding back a waterfall of tears.

- Seeing our sweet baby girl move like crazy in my belly.

- Even though this is a Christmas song I still absolutely love it!
You're here: Francesca Battistelli

- Coming home and the house is neatly organized and cleaned by my amazing husband.

- Reading God's everlasting and unconditional love through his Word.

Those are just a few things that make me blubber like a baby. I know after my pregnancy I will only become more emotional due to hormones and the arrival of my little girl. In the future if we ever hang out, do me a favor and always keep a kleenex in your pocket for me just in case I open up the water works.
